I've been driving myself mad for the past 2 hours trying to find a way to type up some labels/tabs for suspension files - you know, those little perforated labels which come in strips and in my case, strips of 4 across and 14 down and which you slip into the clear pastic name holders clipped to the files.
The labels themselves measure 2" wide x 1/2" deep (sorry, hopeless at cm - but that's about 5.08 x 1.27?) I've tried going to Word and trawling through the address label function but nothing would fit, then I've tried creating a table in Word but just can't get it right.
Can any kind admin. tell me the best way to do it?

Fabulous replies! Thank you. I'll use the link at work tomorrow and if all else fails - what a brilliant idea to print them onto sticky address labels first then just attach them to the fiddly tabs - doh! why didn't I think of that?!!

A template usually comes with the labels containing a link to the site for proper settings. Also, a test page comes with it too. Check the package they came in or go to the manufacturers website. They should have a link to the settings/templates.

I use Avery 11136 labels for my suspension files. I have the template saved on my hard drive and I think I had to download it from the Avery site. The label instructions don't give the measurements like the notebook tab labels do.

5167 is 1/2" by 1.75". This also fits 8 tab dividers for when you run out of the Avery easy tabs or want to reuse dividers.
If it were me I would print the labels and stick to the cardboard insert.
