Title: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference? Post by: aconroy on January 23, 2002, 01:52:48 pm What did you guys make of it?
Was it a genuine outburst or purely a publicity stunt ... whatever it was, it was not necessary. Adam (my boyf) thought it was great though ... calling all his friends asking them if they'd seen it ... << sigh >> MEN! ![]() Amanda ![]() Title: Re: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference? Post by: jewels6567 on January 23, 2002, 02:47:28 pm I think it was a little bit of both. They probably planned a little bit of it but then Tyson probably took it too far. Boxing is becoming as bad as wrestling these days whereas it's all fake and acting.

It just shows that the rich are different. Bethalize Deskdemon Forum Board Staff Title: Re: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference? Post by: blufire21 on January 23, 2002, 03:10:09 pm I've got mixed emotions when it comes to Tyson. I love boxing and he's a good boxer when he plays fair, but when he doesn't, I get mad that I spent the $49.50 to watch the fight. I'm just glad he's been on regular TV the last few times.
I agree that the stunt was probably mixed. Tyson really has nothing to fear because Lenox has a glass jaw, and MT can chop him out quick if he lands just the right punch. There has been a lot of anamosity between the two and I think that MT was just letting off a little steam. Was it right? No, but that's business. Can't imagine wanting to know much more about him than that, unless things ever change. I would pay $49.50 for *that* show.
Title: Re: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference? Post by: whitesatin on January 23, 2002, 04:56:49 pm That press conference had "Publicity Stunt" written all over it. I wouldn't pay 49 cents to see that fight.

Post by: radaro on January 23, 2002, 05:10:06 pm After I saw a picture of a boxer's brain vs a regular brain in my abnormal psychology textbook many years ago, I decided then and there that boxing is totally barbaric and a waste of human beings. I don't watch the matches or the publicity stunts - a waste of money and time.
BTW the boxer's brain was a red pile of mush from repeated concussions and injuries compared to the pale pink, wrinkley regular brain. Title: Re: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference? Post by: superninjaadmin on January 23, 2002, 05:46:52 pm My humble opinion is that Tyson has aspirations of joining the WWF and so he's building up his credentials.

Post by: countrigal on January 24, 2002, 04:17:44 pm Now ladies... the Rock has a body to die for, and he's well-spoken. But my all time WWF love has to be Shawn Michaels. And last Sunday he was in WWF New York and I got to see him one more time on TV. ::::sigh::::

If Tyson knew about beforehand (faking the fight) and still did it knowing that he could run the risk of not getting his license back he wouldn't have done it. But then again Tyson's an idiot so who knows.
I'm a big fan of boxing! Something you guys probably didn't know! --- Bridget ![]() Wife to Eduardo (12/4/99), Mommy to Aaron (10/26/01) Title: Re: IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! Post by: superninjaadmin on January 24, 2002, 07:37:37 pm I gotta admit that my favorite WWF dude is The Undertaker. Don't ask me why...maybe it's that mask he wears, and he's so big, tall and mysterious...He's so mean looking! I haven't watched much WWF in a while and maybe The Undertaker isn't on any more??? I like rooting for the bad guys. I always liked watching him and The Rock. The Rock is such a character with that eyebrow of his! Did you see The Rock when he hosted Saturday Night Live? He's such a HAM! LOL!! Is The Undertaker still around?
Title: Re: IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! Post by: bohorquez on January 24, 2002, 07:38:53 pm I try not to dream of the Rock's body too much

He looks good....oops I mean the movie looks good!! Ya, the movie

Post by: countrigal on January 24, 2002, 07:56:56 pm Undertaker is still around, but he's not wearing any mask or face paint, even dropped the personae of the "Undertaker" though the name has stuck. He's cut his hair and went from bad guy to good guy and now is back as the p*$$ed off bad guy. (It's his yard, he's the old dog and protecting his yard and demanding respect from the younger wrestlers.) His new saying is "A Decade of Destruction" since he's been around for 10+ years now. His "brother" came along, another big bad dude who wears a mask and is called Kane. Now he's a lot like the old Undertaker, and is a hit too.
Yeah, you caught me... I'm an avid WWF watcher now. Until about 7 years ago I never would have watched the stuff, but while oversees we had one channel and every Sun at 6:00pm wrestling was on. And we got all the pay-per-views free. Since I don't watch soaps, this has become mine. Sometimes the storylines get way out there, but it's not unlike watching Days of Our Lives or some other soap opera... things change every day, who's dating who, who hates who, etc. I'm hooked well and true now. While we're on the topic (ok, so we're not really, but anyway....) does anyone know why the pay-per-views are no longer available through Direct TV/DSS? The last 2-4 haven't been available unless you have cable and your cable provider offers it, which means I have to search for someplace to watch them if I want to see the event. That sucks! I prefer to watch it at home where I'm comfortable, and the drinks and food are free. CountriGal Deskdemon Editorial Board Member Title: Re: IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! Post by: superninjaadmin on January 25, 2002, 01:04:46 am Thanks for filling me in on the latest WWF scoop, CG.
Since we're on the same mentality-wize subject, have you ever watched Robotica on Discovery Channel? Oh...My...God! I watched it for the first time ever the other night and I laughed my @$$ off for a solid 30 minutes. It was kinda like WWF, but with robots. I don't know but it just hit my funny bone. ![]() Edited by superninjaadmin on 25/01/02 12:05 AM. Title: Re: Tyson v Lewis Press Conference?
