Title: Removing Permanent Marker from Wipe Board
Post by: gee4 on April 13, 2011, 12:27:22 pm
Any ideas on how to remove permanent marker from a wipe board??

Yes!  Someone couldn't read the decription on a box of markers and has now done the unthinkable, despite me telling this individual to ensure he chose the correct one.

These are the eejits men I work with!  ::)

No, I won't be trying anything.  It will be the culprit who will have to sort it. ;)

I won't be the one informing Facilities!!

I have done this before and Lysol Disinfectant Wipes will sometimes work.  You can also try Static Guard it gets rid of lots of stuck on messes.

They sell products at the office supply store here for that very purpose. :)

Marie,

Do they sell or recycle the idiots who make these mistakes in the first place?  ;)

Okay, I know I'm monumentally too late for this one but...

The best, best, best way of removing permanent marker from a wipe board is to use a rubber - just a normal eraser that you'd use to get rid of pencil marks on paper - to remove the ink and then clean the wipe board in the way that you usually do.  It leaves no marks and no residue.  Done!

You'd be amazed how often I need to do this after Exec meetings  ::)  ha!

Or you can go over the permanent marker with a whiteboard marker and it will come off   ;D
