Title: signature block Post by: donnap99 on April 11, 2001, 02:11:10 pm One of those things that's getting on my last nerve today:
Bossie insists that his signature block must read: Sincerely, Superman Cheif Cook and Bottle Washer even though it's on his official, personalized stationery, that has his name and title up there under the company name, with his number, e-mail address, and all that good stuff. Now, I've been giving in for almost 6 years, but today I just want to take the Secretary's Handbook in, open it up to page 120, and show him the PROPER way to do it, no matter how he's done it in the past... I feel better now. BTW, Am I right with the correct format? His title should not be typed under his name, right?? I looked in my book though and it says that when using personalized stationary you should omit the title.

Post by: ozbound on April 11, 2001, 04:04:03 pm At first I got the impression he actually wanted you to put "Superman"--as some sort of joke or something--which made me crack up because one of the bossies here actually kinda looks like "Superman" (the Chris Reeve version, mostly) and I was thinking how funny it'd be if I put that on his letter, except he's not the one with that sort of sense of humour...
Anyway, only the principals & associates names appear on our letterhead, but we always sign that way too: Sincerely, Clark Kent Principal (or Vice-President) I don't think anyone will really notice--Admins usually have a much sharper nose for that sort of protocol than the rest of the world.
