You know, this is the only site that has endured and though not quite as active, IS active and there ARE people to help out.  I wont name other sites that have come and gone, stand alone message boards that have come and gone, it would be nice to have more activity but I thank everyone who IS here and do help out!  I hope to be looking at this board many many years from now!
2  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Teambuilding event on: September 16, 2014, 04:46:41 am
I am planning a teambuilding event and would love some second opinions.  If you had your personal preference, would you want a company lead activity, a location type event such as rafting, cooking, a gaming place, or a "team building company" hosted activity?

What have you enjoyed the most?

People who leave chunks of food in the kitchen sink

People who take the last cup of coffee and dont start a new pot

Always the person who jams the photo copier and walks away.  (Don't they realize I can figure out who did it once I see the jammed paper?)

Co workers that don't water their plants (the poor plants looks so sad)

#1  co workers that expect me to drop everything to do their (many times stupid) request when not asking me when I can get to it, or what my priorities are at that moment.
4  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Tweet about exempt/non exempt on: July 23, 2014, 06:48:17 am
Does anyone actually know what qualifies an assistant as exempt and non exempt in the US?  I am exempt but someone with the same title.. same responsibilities, but  she doesn't report to the CEO is non exempt (I do.)  Who is classified correctly?  By the way, if I look at Office Team's guidelines for pay, I am on at the very very low end of my title, so I don't get "paid" extra being exempt.
5  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Re: The art of gracefully nudging on: June 06, 2014, 04:30:04 am
I agree, get tougher or cc the big boss.  If I want something done, I just cc the CEO (who I do report to) and things get done fast.   It is funny how if "I" ask they whine, but if I do put the CEO on the email, stuff gets done.  If they do whine it isnt to me!

I am in a rut. I am tired of sandwich plates.  What would you order for your meetings that is easy, quick and not too messy?

Is there a cost?

9  General Discussion / Help...Specifically / Re: Customer service as a PA/EA on: March 06, 2014, 07:23:05 am
I actually consider everyone "my customers" and try to provide excellent customer service.  It is a frame of thought of doing your best in all aspects of your job.  People who call on the phone, customers or client that come in the office, co-workers that need help, and especially my boss, I try to provide an exceptional experience.  It could be making a report on time, correct and maybe a bit nicer than just.. the report.  My boss is my most important customer.
10  General Discussion / Sound Off! / Re: Pessimist vs Optimist on: December 31, 2013, 05:55:33 am
Honestly?  It depends how tired I am.  If I am tired I tend to have a pessimist view of life, but if feeling normal and rested, definitely optimist.  I am tired today, but still think 2014 is going to be a great year.  I am making my personal goals and trying to think of ways to achieve these goals.

Happy New Year to everyone a day early.  May 2014 be the best!
12  General Discussion / Help...Specifically / Outlook in Office365 on: November 05, 2013, 06:16:17 am
I have to clean my bosses calendar in Office365 Outlook.   He has several reoccurring meetings.  The problem is someone who left the company "created" the meetings, so there is no option to delete.  It appears only the person who created the meeting can delete the series.   I could do this on my normal Outlook, but not the cloud version.  Anyone know how or have any suggestions?  Hopefully someone works with the Office365 often!
13  General Discussion / Help...Specifically / Re: Holiday Gifts on: October 31, 2013, 06:29:45 am
You are nicer than me (any year!)!  I just don't give things to people (well there are two people and my immediate boss).   I like the idea of sending a email.. in a bit different manner.  Just a nice reminder that we can all give to less fortunate this holiday season.

14  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / How do you get your new boss to give you 15 minutes on: October 29, 2013, 06:24:56 am
I have a coworker who just started for a new manager.  He expects her to do his calendar, file, yet hasn't taken the time to take 15 minutes and express his expectations or what he actually wants her to do.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the person time.  He writes things in a written calendar so she can't "schedule" herself some time.  Every time he promises her time, things or people come up.    She would jump in and just start monitor email and calendar but wants simple go ahead first.

I guess it is because I actually see she tries that I am dumbfounded with suggestions.  Anyone have any?
15  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Re: Hypothetical on: October 02, 2013, 06:04:12 am
You know, I would agree with Marie.  I would go for the start up.  There is so much opportunity to grow and make a difference.  When it comes to, "will the company make it" .. now a days even if you work a few years in the same company that thrives you never know where you will be in 3 to 5 years.
