There are many mouse designs available. You should test a variety of styles before choosing one best suited to meet your individual needs. Suggestions for selection include a review of the following characteristics:

• Size: The mouse should fit into the hand and the fingers should be able to curl around it comfortably.
• Shape: Find a mouse that reduces the need to place the heel of the hand on the desk. Some mice are larger, especially at the rear, and can support your entire hand.
• Buttons: The location of the buttons is important. They should not be cramped nor too spread out. The pressure needed to click the buttons should not be so great that it tires the fingers but neither should it be so sensitive that it is too easy to activate them.
