From writing articles for publication in administrative professional industry trade magazines to teaching free computer classes for her International Association of Administrative Professional (IAAP) chaptermates and co-workers to answering questions one on one from co-workers and staff and actively participating in the DeskDemon Bulletin Board, Marie goes above and beyond in looking for new ways to learn and then share her knowledge.

Although relatively new in her current position (since November 2007), Marie has already established herself as a go-to person for challenging projects. She assisted in finalizing an employee web based suggestion box (including making a number of suggestions for enhancements to the software) and developed a tracking database to support her Division Executive when budget issues were announced for the company. She also helped put together a new Safety Communique for the Division and has actively looked for new ways of encouraging a safety mindset on the job.

She has volunteered to lead free tips and tricks computer training sessions for other administrative professionals throughout the organization. Marie is also passionate about mentoring and is in the process of developing a formal mentoring program at her chapter of IAAP, a networking and educational association for administrative professionals. She has been mentoring the chapter presidents since the chapter began and has watched the chapter grow 7-fold since it was chartered less than four years previously. She has chaired numerous seminars (three in the last twelve months alone - an Image Enhancement workshop, a full day seminar called The Age of Discovery: The Renaissance Admin and most recently a seminar called "Discover Confidence") and committees for the chapter since its inception and has also provided assistance at the Division Level of the association.

In addition, Marie is the chair for the chapter's Administrative Professional's Week Event - which includes a professional development speaker, dinner, and a vendor expo with 40-60 vendors. Marie works hard to support her company and her fellow colleagues and she is fully deserving of this award.
