Dettu's post on CPS here directing others to the correct forum made me wonder something, and so I'm asking the question...

When you come into the Hub, do you read everything, or just selected forums?

If you only read selected forums, why?  Is there something about the others that just doesn't interest you or is it because of a lack of time or something else?

Curious to know!  (aka nosy!)

I stick to mostly Admins 4 Admins and Cafe areas. I stay out of software unless I'm actually troubleshooting my own problem,  I'm not a VA, and don't belong to any membership groups, and I'm in the US with very little knowlege of the world across the "pond". So, for those groups... I feel I'd have nothing to offer. I occasionally wander into Humor and Topical Climates, but mainly just lurk. And of course I keep check on the Staff area (since I am a Peer Moderator, and have to keep up )

Hi Jackie,

I prefer reading Admin4Admin and Software survival as these interests me the most. Not reading others is due to time paucity. When I have time, I rush to humour zone and wander to others forum as well but this is occasional.

I read all of the Forums.  I'm the curious type and if there is any chance I can learn something I would be really upset with myself if I missed something that would teach me anything new. I crave education.  And, of course Humor Zone is a great relief from stress.  A good giggle, or groan,  helps us all.

I tend to read all the forums under the heading General Discussion ... but tend not to bother too much with the other forums.

Like holly, I check the forums under General Discussion several times a day.  I don't post a whole lot - just when there is something I need an answer for or something I feel I can really contribute.  However, I have learned much just by "listening in".

The other areas don't really interest me very much.  One time when I had nothing at all to do, I did wander into "software survival", and was truly amazed at the amount of info there.  The rest of the forums don't really interest me or have anything to do with my work, so I don't ever access them.

I always read Joan Lloyd and have also learned much from her columns.

I read all of the General forums and the Career Forums. I tend to skip the networking forums unless there is something on IAAP. Since I don't belong to the other organizations and several are based outside the US, I don't find myself interested in many of their threads (local meetings and such) nor do I feel that I could contribute much to them.

I tend to have a quick look at the new posts just in case the topics might interest me or in case I can help.  So I guess I check out all the forums!

That's the same thing I do, Bea.  I read all the new ones.  You just never know where you might be able to offer some advice on some topic.

I always review new posts in Admins4Admins and Software Survival.  I don't generally have time to look at other areas.

I try to catch all the forums if I have the time.  If not I usually catch A4A, Cafe and Software Survival.

I look at all of the forums but only really read the ones I think will benefit me.  Software survival has helped me a few times and if I am having a bad day then I make a beeline for the humour zone.
