Anyone know of anything decent for a decent price? Two days midweek, actual purpose of the trip is to go to Monaco but Im thinking hotels in Monaco are a bit pricey....

Hi Andrea
I went to Nice last year on holiday, but we were travelling and going from hotel to hotel so didn't pay much attention to the ones we stayed in. We used the Rough Guide to France for ideas though, I'll see if I can dig it out and let you have some info.

OK, I've got two. They are both close to the train station for your connection to Monaco (assuming you're going my train):
Le Capitole, 4 rue de la Tour (Tel 0493800815) says it's "potentially noisy" with a "warm atmosphere". Cost between 300-400F.
St Francois, 3 rue St-Francois (Tel 0493858869) says it's in a busy area above a restaurant and gets noisy at weekends. Cost between 220-300F
Hope they are a good starting point!
