Great idea and topic. I've always told my friends, it's a heck of a lot easier to get a job when you currently have one, than when you are unemployed. Don't really understand why it makes a difference, but I've seen it enough (locally) to believe it's fairly accurate. I think its because if they see you have a job, they think "gee, this is someone who is a go-getter, look at what they are already doing" and have stigma or negative opinions about anyone who has been let go from a job or hasn't had a job in a while (be that for downsizing, parenthood, whatever). We all know it's not the truth, but that appears to be the mindset in the offices some of my friends have interviewed with.
