36 which sounds like a lot.  Only a few are files, my quick click to file labels, most are truly short cuts to various programs I use for the company.   I use the quick launch bar more than my desk top to access items. I have 20 items on it in a double row.  I do have a picture of a rather large tree on my desk top and the icon are arranged on the tree like ornaments, low hanging fruit most used programs!
