Having been through this twice before, follow laundryhater's advice. Simply advise the person that "Mr. Bossie is no longer with our company". Let the person draw their own conclusions but don't give out any other information. If this guy is a buddy of ex-boss, he will know how to get in touch with him.
And, as MM says, if they persist, refer them to HR. This is a trying time, and SOME people may be looking for you to slip up. Right now your loyalties have to lie with yourself (you need to keep your job) and to the company that employs you.
This, too, shall come to pass.
