Please explain

"The results are only so good and as in detail, as also input data "
Is this a comprehensible sentence? If yes could you please explain it? Seems I am to dumb to understand it by myself.
Thanks

If you're dumb, then I am dumb, too! What a horrid sentence. I think what they mean is something to the effect of "your cake is only as good as the ingredients you used to make it," or "garbage in/garbage out". Hope that helps.

Eek! Bad grammar!
I think GE is right about the possible meaning but what a way to write it!

Thanks
"Garbage in / garbage out" would make sense. - As far as the whole thing makes sense at all. This guy always writes things like that and gets a lot of money for it too (about 8 times what I get). Makes me mad.

They must obviously pay him for each useless word, ergo, the excess verbage. (In other words, an overpaid bag of hot air!)

I can't call that a sentence at all!
Fries my donuts, boils my eggs, frosts my cake....gee, maybe I should have eaten a little more breakfast!

I think every English teacher I ever had would have had a field day with the mistakes in that sentence.
And your situation sounds a lot like that commerical where the two guys are pitching ideas and when the "buyer" tells them to go ahead with it, they look dumbfounded because its only their job to come up with ideas, not make them work.
Far, far to many useless jobs out there these days.

Talk about excessive verbage! Reminds me of something a co-worker gave me...I have it on my bulletin board and will share.
Boil it down
Next time you're trying to decide whether that last paragraph really needs to go in there or not, consider the following.
Pythagorean theorem: 24 words
The Lord's Prayer: 66 words
Archimedes' Principle: 67 words
10 Commandments: 179 words
Gettysburg Address: 286 words
Declaration of Independence: 1300 words
US government regulations on the sale of cabbage: 26,911 words
Have a great rest of the day!

This reminds me of an episode of "That Girl" (yes, I am dating myself). She is getting paid by the word to write a newspaper article. She excitedly explains to her boyfriend, Donald, about how this could be a goldmine. After all, instead of writing "Donald's hat" she can write "the hat of Donald".
Sorry, just mindless trivia on a grey and boring afternoon.

I would suspect that it was written by someone who did not speak English as a first language. I am more lenient with these individuals.
If this was written by someone who DOES speak English as a first language, then their skills frighten me!

Hi everybody,
thanks for your comments.
Daisy,
"overpaid bag of hot air" You made me laugh out loud.
MLM,
we don't have that commercial here. But I can just imagine this guys face if anybody would expect him to make his ideas work!
Judy,
Just printed that part about number of words in Pythagorean theorem etc. I will copy that and give it to several people here without further comment.
Marie,
no his first language is German. But
a) he has been working during several years in Projects where all discussions and all correspondence are in English
b) his way to express himself in German isn't any better than this
and - worst of all -
c) he thinks he is perfect and can't accept criticism
So no reason to be lenient with (or is it against?) him.
Well, thanks to you all I can laugh about it now instead of being frustrated.
Wish you all a nice day.
