How intuitive are you? Have you ever known something was going to happen before it did? Do you listen to your intuition, or ignore it?

Now, I knew you were going to say that!!
But in all honesty, three times in my life I have looked at someone and known that they were going to die (and been proved right - all of them natural causes/ill health but either way not nice!).

If I dream in color it's not a good thing. The worst time was dreaming my first husband was going to be in a really bad auto accident. He survived, barely. For the longest time after that I turned it off so to speak. I don't have psychic claims, I think on some level we all have intuitive skills it's just how we have fine tuned them or whether we want to take the time to read the signals.

I refer to it as "My Spidey Senses are tingling." Not that I know something specific is going to happen, but I can sense when something big is about to go down. However, I think it's more a heightened sense of awareness and picking up on things like people's body language, tone of voice and general behavior rather than a feeling. Actually, the word my DH uses referring to me is "perceptive".

Katie. I know what you mean. I can't quite explain it, but I do know I have a sixth sense if you will. I do listen to it and have let it guide me.

Generally when I dream of someone I know, something bad has happened or happens shortly thereafter.
I dreamed of my best friend and called her the next day (she lived in another state), only to find out she had miscarried twins.
It has happened a few other times as well.

My husband has this experience. Two or three times a year, he'll say to me, "I talked to Grandma last night." Grandma always seems to know what's going on in our lives at the moment. I did not have the chance to meet her before she died, but DH tells me that in his dreams, she knows who I am...and likes me
. There's never been any specific message delivered that he can remember...apparently they just chat about life in general. But it tends to happen when he's stressed and needs a little comfort and confidence in general.

I have had that 'deja vu' thing in the past where I am doing something or something has happened and I realise its something I have dreamt or thought about.

I have often dreamed something... and later on down the road felt that deja vue (sp?) feeling... stopped and thought about it and then, depending on the outcome of the dream, either tell someone or just watch it unfold. The first time I really knew I did this I was in junior High and dreamed a took a header down the back steps of the school, and a few days later, as I'm falling, I remembered it all and knew what the exact outcome was going to be (a really bad skinned knee that left a scar that is noticeable to this day). Hubby is so used to it that when I stop mid-sentence, he'll wait patiently for me to either explain or to go on with the conversation. It's particularly helpful if the situation originally had a bad outcome, because then by speaking to him and telling him the details, we can generally change the course a bit. He didn't believe me really until one of my dreams involved others besides us, and I told him "She's going to say x, he's going to say Y, she's going to stomp over to the door, slam it, and he'll jump up, trip on the cat, and almost fall into the fireplace." The couple we were visiting were not fighting or disagreeing yet, then she said x and so on... and we stepped in just as he got up and the cat started to shoot under his legs (hubby grabbed the fast little bugger) and they talked and calmed down without him getting hurt.
So to answer the question, guess I do generally act on it and pay attention to it. I wish I could say which dreams were like this and which were all pretend, but I don't generally know until the actual event starts to occur, so any dreams that aren't far-fetched (if involve talking unicorns and the such I ignore them) then I try to commit details to memory that are then accessed when I get that feeling that this has happened before. I can stop, flip through the dreams and see if I find the one that belongs. Then I either get to watch the real-life movie unfold or take steps to alter the course.

Two different things entirely with me, the dejavue that has already been mentioned which makes me stop in my tracks and have to think if it was a dream prior or not because I never remember my dreams. The other is I follow the gut instinct on things, mostly because it's generally right. I never second guess that anymore ever!

I agree, the gut instinct is always right on.
