Our organization is having a match the charity donation run.  Each department picks a charity and has 2 months to do fund raisers, donate their own money or.. just anything to raise money.  The company will match 50% of what ever we earn. (can't use fund me or similar programs).  Anyone have fun ideas to earn money.  It takes me back to school days!   We are still choosing our charity, there are so many good ones.

As with any year.. good and bad happened.  Thinking back more good than bad in 2016.  Hopefully the good will outweigh the bad in 2017.

I have been a lurker on DeskDemon for about .. wow 10 years.  I love this site, it has helped me find answers, train me when I have we have no real training budget, pissed me off when long gone posters .. posted.. I even had some advice (through the articles) with tips that I didn't know and helped me get my current job, and a few years later negotiate a raise! (To name a few things, I read it all)  I have even used the "did you know" pieces in my manager's Powerpoint presentations!  It is easy to take websites for granted, but I am taking a minute to thank the people at DeskDemon.  It has been booked marked for many years and I hope will be for many more years.  I love the new look, the forum boards are a bit slower now a days, but my goal is to lurk less and chime in more.  I commend those who contribute articles and blogs.  I don't think my writing skills are up to par for that!  To each and everyone who have posted advice, thank you.  I still look at posts from years ago if it has relevant information for what ever I am looking for at any particular time.  I am feeling a bit nostalgic and looking forward to 2015.

To DeskDemon, the Forum Board Posters, and all the lurkers like me, Happy Holiday's and may 2015 be the best year ever!

I didn't say anything, the meeting was cancelled so all was good and I wont be making that mistake again.  Next time I may not get so lucky.

I made a mistake.  I know I wont get fired for it, but will get "lectured" about it and my boss will give a sense of.. "disappointed in you" for a while.   Without telling details on the internet, if you made a mistake, know it is going to come out soon, would you wait until after Thanksgiving to fess up or say something right away?

I know it is hard, but I know co-workers read DeskDemon and may put 2 and 2 tighter at some point.  I know my mind is made, and will wait until Monday to let my boss know I did something wrong.  I just want the 4 day holiday to be good.  Would you do the same?
