Hi I have been given the task to weed out potential applicants for a position open in our  department.   I have a targeted 10 applicants, but about half of those maybe considered over qualified.  I am going by my compassionate side realizing that these people may need a job regardless.  What would you do?  6 of the 10 have alot more experience that is needed, but not so much I think they would be bored or just go stir crazy.  The big thing is the pay will not be the best for someone who has 10 years of experience over someone just starting to work.  I really really would love to hear what others would say.

OH yes, I have been to the networking events where groups show up and don't talk to others.  I agree why go?  The reason to go is to mingle and talk to others!  I have found EA groups have more women who stick together, but if you go to a small business networking group the people are much more open to talking and you get much more inviting environment to walk up to someone and introduce yourself.

Thank god this isn't my problem, but I am posting for a friend who wants to be 100% anonymous.   She is noticing what she may think are illegal happenings with her boss, that he maybe siphoning money from the company tiny bit by tiny bit.  She isn't sure and doesn't want to cause a scene, but doesn't want to be involved or implemented if he is.  She is feeling in a no win situation.  She is at a loss on what to do next.   I told her I would post her and see what others would say.   This is how she is feeling, she isn't positive on any illegal actions, just noticing little .. things and if she brings it up and it is nothing, she looks very bad, if he is doing it and she says nothing, she maybe considered helping him.  If she says something and he is doing something, she says she would be scared for some type of retaliation.   Please let me know what you would.

I was also thinking of routing slips for those memo's that people don't want to send by email.  I like the ideas so far, keep them coming if anyone can think of new ideas.

My manager has been given a few new projects.  One is how to eliminate paper by 40% in the office.  He has asked me to research as many  options and some information on them as possible.  I thought I would see what the smart   admins at DeskDemon have to suggest while I create my list.  This is actually a fun project.  Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

My personal files are colored, but for the office files we use manila.   We re-use the manila folders until they are totally worn out.   We do use colored sticker tabs for our manila ones that are color coded.

I didn't know all the songs!  I am getting old, but I think it was so wrong what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift.  I was happy when people boo'ed him.   BUT I think Beyonce had so much class in letting her speak at the end.  The other part I really felt for was Madonna's speach in the beginning.   I think the paparazzi mess with all those stars.
