Thankfully, we have an in-house travel department that takes care of everything, as long as we complete the proper forms.  Makes my life a lot easier!

Lately, since I've been getting older I've noticed that I fall asleep watching TV if I'm up much later than 10pm!  I like to make it a point to watch a lot of shows, and use the summer re-run season to catch those that come on at the same time as others I like to watch.  I love House, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Dancing with the Stars, and American Idol, but this summer got hooked on My Name is Earl and The Office.  I used to watch Lost faithfully, but the plots got a little too much for me.  And of course, I watch the Young and the Restless with my co-workers during our lunch hour, and tape All My Children to watch at home.  Oh, and I also love Piimp My Ride when I can catch it, along with Mythbusters.  And MadTV reruns on Comedy Central.  Also love old movies on TCM and AMC.  

Oh my god, I sound like I have absolutely no life!

Misslynn - The next time he gets a phone, have the phone vendor transfer all his info from one phone to the other.  They will do it for a nominal fee (about $10), at least that's what I do now.

I used to have one; I actually used to change the dish/container to coincide with seaons and holidays (ex. a plastic jack o'lantern for Halloween).  I used to fill it mostly with chocolate (purchased at discount prices after holidays!) or tootsie rolls or something that came individually wrapped (people tended to dig through the container and as we all know, not everyone has the cleanest hands

I stopped doing it for two reasons: 1. I was eating way too much of it, and, 2. it was getting too expensive.  There are always those people who came and grab a handful of candy, but never help to replenish the supply!

I came over here from Admin Authority website.  I miss Andrea's stories, too!  Have been with the same company in the same position for 17 years, but am on my 4th MD.  I lurk a lot, seldom post, but learn so much from all of you that do post that I feel like I know you!

Absolutely not!  Vacation means no work, and once I leave here, I promptly forget about work until I return.  I need the time to recharge my batteries, and get away from all those people who pull me in a million different directions when I'm working.  I clean up as much as I can before I leave, and try to anticipate anything that may come up and set up a plan to handle it, but otherwise, it can wait until I get back.  In the case of a real emergency, my boss has my cell #, but thankfully has only used it maybe once in 3 years!

I saw the story about the mouse on the news yesterday....wasn't sure whether to laugh about what the mouse did, or cry that this fellow lost his home in the resulting fire!  The newscaster who reported it was having a hard time keeping a straight face!

A few years back, while all my managers were in the office for a meeting, my boss asked me to find a place that would rent a judge's costume (robe, wig & gavel).  After I found one, quite a few miles away, I picked it up and brought it back.  In the time I was gone, he must have changed his mind and didn't want to wear it......I was not a happy camper.  I think when he saw the expression on my face, he decided it was a good idea to just put it on!

Praying and hoping that everyone is fine.  What a horrible tragedy!  It brings up the same horrible disbelief as when New York was attacked.  It's hard to believe that people like this actually exist in this world.

Definitely go and check out the other opportunity - If all of those administrators want to leave the job you just took, there must be a reason for it!  It could be their own immaturity, or it could be that the company isn't all that great.  And if you're not doing the job you signed up for now, who's to say that the long-term benefits will even pan out?

I'm a Libran too, and I understand how difficult it can be to make a decision.  But they get easier when you have all the facts, and you won't have all the facts if you don't check out the grass on the other side of the fence!
