Hypothetical situation:  Your company gives annual merit increases.  You are offered a title change and raise.  Your supervisor asks, if because of your raise, would you be willing to give up your merit increase, so other co-workers could get a larger merit increase. Would you do it?

I had 117 that needed a response of one kind or another.

Be more organized, it's not that I'm not, but my organizing is all over the place.  I want one calendar for LIFE, one activity list, to do list etc.  Have ordered Plum Planner ME style and hope to get everything in it.

I'm all about being comfortable!  My mom was a posture nazi, so comfort for me is straight up back support.  We upgraded chairs a while back and they can be adjusted many different ways.  I probably lean forward a bit too much, but feet are on the ground, legs usually crossed at ankles, dual monitors in place, keyboard at correct height, and I have gel wrist rests for keyboard and mouse.  My mouse pad looks like a mini Persian carpet with fringe. My monitor is on a stand that has height adjustment as well.   I have a foot rest under my desk. If I were to make a change I would probably adjust computer setting for a little bifocal ease.

I had to pause and think about this.  Am I truly happy?  For the most part yes, I'm in my chosen profession, working with people I respect and from whom I can learn. Would I like to win the lottery and be on a beach or in Paris - Sure!  But for now I'll go back to work! Smiley

My hubby met me at the gate - oh the perks of being an airline employee.  (He still had to do the bus and employee parking lot while I went on to public park and ride).  But I played nice and took employee to park and ride as we were using the same company.

Wow, ours are not that great
My building has a fitness facility one time fee of $100 unlimited use during flexible business hours
401k partial match
Decent but costly insurance options, vision, dental and legal
Current time off is amazing (but I'm over the first time jump)
Working from home or flex time not really an option
The purchasing department has set up some discount programs, for example park and fly discount, travel assistance through our travel agent, clothing store discounts - I haven't taken advantage of any of these but the one I want to look into is Apple!

One def. checking luggage too many hair products Smiley  We have worked together five years and are as built together as we are ever going to be.  Hubby told me I have to wait Sad.  Oh well I'll play nice (and play it by ear!).

We have nine in our office but of those only 3 are truly assistants.  The others will tell you very quickly it's a title only, they are ____________  Company wide 100's.  I tried an outlook search with a filter and it crashed.
I used to have a network group but our company has changed in the last few months, the result of a merger.  Our department used to have two admins, less staff to support less admins needed.  Now the internet is my support group!

Opinions please.
My company is sending four of us to another city for orientation.  Two of the four are not very travel savvy.  Three of us are returning on the same flight.  It will be during rush hour for the drive home.  I picked a middle seat near the front of the plane to deplane as soon as possible and get to the off site parking.  I'm very travel savvy.    I'm not sure where the others are parking or plans.  Do I need to wait for them to deplane before continuing on to park and ride?  It's only a one night stay so I will not be checking any luggage and I'm pretty sure the other two will check luggage.  I don't want to be rude but I know I will want to get home!
11  General Discussion / The Humour Zone / My poor husband on: March 03, 2015, 07:01:59 pm
Bless that man for loving me.  Last night at dinner while taking his piece of chicken off the pan he nudged me and it fell on the counter.  Then later in the evening I asked him if he wanted the last piece of Valentine's day candy from the box.  I ate my piece and few minutes later clearing off the counter threw the box out, we both heard the thud of the candy on the bottom of the trash can.  No neither of us went dumpster diving, but our joke is I'm throwing his food on the floor.  I should get a dog bowl with his name!
12  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Re: Performance Reviews on: February 20, 2015, 05:34:56 pm
We have to write our own reviews, it's a three part process.  Online form, with our ratings for standard items, set new goals for the next year - 2-4 items.  Our boss then writes their review, meet and discuss.  My last one was 2009, but I would still fill out my part each year.
If you have to write from scratch, a couple of recommendations:
Go back through sent emails for major projects you may have forgotten from the beginning of the year
Start an accomplishment list early this year, either word or draft email and update monthly
Did you have monthly reports, those can be a gold mine for information
Google review forms for topics, I would think you can find basic admin forms that could be revised.
13  General Discussion / Sound Off! / Re: Pets in the Office on: February 20, 2015, 05:29:22 pm
Pets are not allowed in my building.  I agree the liability is too high in the US.  Smaller offices, owner pet is the only place I have seen pets in an office or business.
14  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Re: Trendy Question on: February 13, 2015, 04:48:14 pm
Depends on the outfit, if I have a suit with a matching scarf  I will wear it.

My jewelry is low key classic, pearls, small gemstone necklaces (birthstones or sapphires).  Those "statement" necklaces look gaudy to me and ones I have tried on feel very uncomfortable, plus I'm not willing to pay $$ for a necklace that only goes with a few outfits.

I have been trying to add a few more scarves into the wardrobe as I like the look and warmth.  Finding what I consider pretty prints is the issue. Plus I tend to fidget with it too much during the day.
15  General Discussion / Admins 4 Admins / Re: What word processing software do you use? on: February 13, 2015, 04:41:00 pm
I'll age myself, a floppy disc word processer with a one line screen, word perfect, and now word.
I dabble in pages for mac, but don't really care for it unless it's a one page letter, anything with real formatting I will use word.
