I have a basic mobile phone.  In the week it is my emergency contact number for my two dear kids.  I do not broadcast the number at work.  Otherwise, I use the text facilities quite a lot - one of my best friends finds it easier to stay in touch with me this way.  BTW I still send letters written out by hand as well and I love receiving these by return.
