My most recent temp assignment just ended, so I'm back "in the pool"! I'm hoping to do better next time, as the agency told me one reason I was discontinued is the company felt my accuracy rate was not high enough for them. I feel as if I've been in a string of bad relationships lately, and it's getting a little discouraging. I was also disconcerted that they are not letting me go back to the office to say "goodbye" to anyone or to pick up my mugs and stuff (the agency said they'd pick them up for me!) Is that normal business practice? It seems like they're afraid I'll go "postal" on them or something - how absurd!

Anyway, it's on to something better!

Oz, sorry to hear your recent assignment has just ended.  I can sympathise with you as hubby has just started his third agency position in two months - he kept being told he was over qualified for the jobs they sent him to, he is starting to feel very low about himself and his self-confidence has all but gone.  Please don't feel bad about yourself, you know how much time and effort you put into your jobs to ensure that they are done to the best of you abilities and if the organisations cannot see that then they must have a real problem with staff moral.  As I keep telling hubby, you are worth more than just a number to anyone and the right job will come along soon.  Their loss is someone else's gain!

Temping is the pits but the only way to survive financially when in between jobs.  Don't give it a second thought, just move on.

Best of luck!

The right job is out there for you. You seem that you know that and have confidence; I admire your attitude.

I can't believe that they wouldn't let you return.  Perhaps they have somehting to hide??  Anyway, keep your chin up.  The job that's just right for you is out there somewhere, and all of these other positions are simply adding to your life experiences in order to prepare you for what is coming down the road.

That is really really harsh of them!

I agree that temping is the pits!

Odds are that they will not 'pick up your mugs for you' so when they dont, make sure you invoice them for said mugs, which were given to you by your late grandma and are of imesurable sentimental value and considerable antique worth!!!

at least you know you can do much better next time! my dad always says "think positive, and positive things will happen!"

Hey, Oz, here's a hug.  (((Oz)))

Sometimes it seems like the rough patches are big enough to make a quilt!

Hang in there -- we're pulling for you!

Heh, heh, I thought of that, smallfry. But I called the agency and they assured me they will get the things. They said not letting an employee go back after they let them go is a "security issue." Riiiight...that's why the guy (a permanent employee--he seemed kinda creepy to some coworkers too!) who they let go a couple weeks ago got to pack up his stuff before *he* left. Personally, I think it's discriminatory against temps!

But you are right--think positive--and already something positive has happened!
