I have three managers coming here today and tomorrow for training.  Today's agenda was to be; 10.10am plane arrives;  10.30am meeting and greeting - also allows time for delays knowing the problems BA are having; 12.00pm lunch; 1pm training.   My boss said he didn't want to waste time meeting anyone and wanted to start training at 10.30am.  I was slightly insulted by this as I have worked here just over four months and haven't met him yet. Also I've only spoken to him once on the phone when I called him to introduce myself and let him know I was available to do work for him (and he still hasn't sent me any work).  Anyway he re-arranged the agenda to: 10.30am the 4 hour training session I arranged was to be squashed into 2.5 hours; 1pm lunch; 2pm the 5 hour training session for tomorrow squashed into 3 hours and if he had time he would meet me at 5pm.  Well I am sorry to say I finish at 4pm and today I'm going to make a point of going on time.  But the best bit of news that has had me smiling all morning is that his plane was more than an hour late taking off and he still isn't here.  I must truly have a wicked streak in me as I feel an immense amount of satisfaction in knowing that instead of him wasting time meeting me, he is wasting time sitting on the tarmac.  Do you think I'm evil?

Yes, Carol you're evil!!!  But it's allowed.  We all have that streak.

I do think it's a bit odd that if the guy hasn't met you yet, he isn't prepared to take the time out to do so... I take it he's based in the south predominantly?

So they won't get all the training finished and no doubt he'll have to either stay on or come back!!

Having sat on the tarmac in the plane (we got pushed back too soon) at Glasgow for an hour to get a take off slot, I know what that's like, it's not funny.  At least it was in our weather, and not in the Spanish climes at the end of the holiday!!!

I hadn't realised BA's problems were ongoing, they sounded as if they were starting to get back to normal just before I went away but clearly they're still having some sort of knock on effect.  And, of course, the domestic flights will be hit the hardest as they're the shortest and probably therefore the most expendable in terms of making people wait!

Managers *think* they know best!  And sometimes they even do.

I'm astounded that you haven't met your boss yet, and that he can't be bothered to give you even the time of day when he does come to your location.  Who interviewed you?

I hope all that you've taken time and trouble to organise goes smoothly - I'm sure it will.

As for being evil, well, we all have a streak of that in us!  Now where *did* I hide that wax model?

PS I think BA are more or less back to normal now ...

Good for you!  What a jerk...Let him waste his time on the tarmac.  That is what he gets.  It is hilarious!

How did yesterday go?  Did your boss make his meeting, or is he still waiting on the tarmac ?

He got here eventually and cancelled everything he had re-arranged and only did the training I had originally set up for him.  Someone did introduce him to me today so I know what he looks like now.  Maybe it will be another 4 months until he talks to me again.

Oh! and I forgot to mention that his plane returning this afternoon hasn't taken off yet either because of air traffic control's computer failure.

Joy!

'Nuff said, Carol.

With his attitude he may not last long.

Just goes to reinforce the idea... watch how you treat others, as karma has a way of catching up with you.
