That's why I no longer work for lawyers! They are filthy rich and do not share the wealth at all. I worked for one of the nicer, less egotistical lawyers and even he only paid me $6/hr no benefits. I was also expected (and was not told this in the interview) to do the paperwork and billing for his other business ventures he did outside the law office.



Run, run, run as fast as you can! He's a jerk. And of course he expects 4 weeks' notice when you quit but do you think he'll give any notice at all if he fires you or "downsizes" you? Heck no!



I was "downsized" from a company that I could see was slowly sinking into the ground (I was secretly looking for another job because I could see it coming - just didn't think it would come quite so soon) with no advance notice at all. At 5 PM on a Friday as I was getting ready to leave for the weekend, the jerk said "Goodnight and oh, by the way, I have to let you go because I can't afford to pay your salary anymore." I asked, "So when is my last day?" The answer: "Today."



Join a temp agency and give him the standard two weeks' notice (just to keep your professionalism in tact).



You deserve a better boss! No one should be spoken to like that!
