And since I'm no longer a true "admin", I'm feeling a little left out!  For the first time in 10 years, there are no flowers, lunches, all the fun signs of appreciation we get.  I realize it's nice to be appreciated all year long...but that one special week was always something to look forward to! (Of course, my hips will thank me! Those lunches were fattining!)

But I will never forget where I came from, and I just wanted to share my feelings with all of you, and to say thanks for being there when I needed you all!  A very happy Administrative Professional's Day to you all, and may every working day be something you relish doing...because you are appreciated!

Take care all,
Daisylee

Thanks!  This year we got a "candy bouquet" instead of flowers.  Yum.  Lets see, there are movie tickets, a tiny lilac notepad, pretty pens, pencils, a letter opener, all in a giant mug.  Useful (if not utilitarian).

I'll never forget the year we all got arrangements with balloons praising our "uniqueness."

Lunch today is a catered affair; I'm going to be worthless this afternoon.

This year was a bit different and enjoyable.  Usually we get together and go in groups, but this year each department took their own out to lunch.  Which meant I got to go with my boss and another person that I support and actually I should have invited one more person, but it truly was enjoyable having lunch with these two folks.  I really don't get a chance to have lunch with these two folks.  The other person I support also gave me a gift certificate to the restaurant that we went to, my choice of course and we had Chinese food, YUM!  I love it, not filling and you don't feel as though you ate too much and are uncomfortable all day, I hate that feeling.  This was definetly a nice change of pace.

Our department surprised us and had lunch catered in the reception room of our office, with our VP and AVP dressed as waiters!  (Much better than the travesty I vented about last week which was run by the HR dept!)
