Hallowed eve The time is here For fancy dress And looking queer
Ghouls and ghosts Witches too Cauldrons, spells Of every hue
Trick or treat Scary masks Chilling stories From the past
Fallen leaves Apple pies Monkey nuts Bonfire night
Burn the Guy We all remember Who caused a commotion On the 5th of November

Another great poem Gee. Do you celebrate Halloween? There seems to be more and more stuff for it in the shops this year. My daughter, who's nearly 9, is begging me to take her and a friend on a "Terror Tractor Trailer Ride" at night with "live" characters next week at a local farm. However, as this ride has got a rating of 5 pumpkins scares against it on the website, I'm going to stick to the "Twilight Ride" which only has a scare factor of 2 pumpkins....I can't take any more than this and I certainly don't want to give nightmares to my own child or anyone else's.

Had to laugh I think us adults are much easier scared than children - must be our age! I don't really celebrate Halloween, hate all that dressing up, but don't mind if others choose to do it. The kids that come trick or treating in my mum's neighbourhood really do go to town on their costumes though.

Yes Gee - I admit to being a wimp! I hate horror/gory films and still remember getting nightmares at the age of around 10-12ish after watching the film "The Time Machine"! However, I was an avid "Buffy / Angel" fan when those two series hit the small screen - it must be something about them that I sound "safe". Who knows?

Talking of movies, the final instalment of Saw is out this weekend and I cannot wait to see it. I have seen 1 to 5 so far and have to say, I have never watched such well-written, unexpected plots in a series like this. Usually you get to the sequal and you've seen it all before!

I've just looked this film up on "Wikipedia" as I'd not heard of it...you're a braver lady than me Gee as the image of the poster for the film would put me off seeing. Anyway, enjoy the film when you see it.

If you get a chance, rent the first one and go from there. This isn't just a horror series, in fact, I don't even think of it like that. It's more of a "game" triggered by events and one movie starts where the previous one ends. As each movie unfolds you learn a little more about the plotline making it understandable. I totally recommend it!!

I'm not into the horror movie genre. This year I will volunteering at my local performing arts theater which is showing the musical version of 101 Dalmatians. I'm hoping it's really cute and the kids come in costume. It depends on the year as to whether I get into the spirit (get it? sorry!). One of our friends used to have a big party and we all dressed up. Some years we went all out other years we would drag out the dh's old military uniforms. The best costumes I remember growing up were the ones we made - not these plastic creations in the stores. Plus around here is a big fuss about Illegal Aliens costumes. I happen to think it's funny, but many folks are up in arms over it and the costumes have been taken off the shelves. (Not the mention the totally age inappropriate costumes some of the girls are wearing.)

Oh Marie, I forget what you call them over there. You crack them open and the nuts are inside. They are shaped like a peanut.
