What kind of files are we talking about? Electronic? Paper?
Are they drawings? legal contracts? general correspondence? etc...
Do you have to reorganize them completely? Is there a master file list available? That's usually the first thing I do when I start a new job if it isn't in place - go through and type up a list of all the files names in the file cabinet. Easier to search through an electronic document than paper files when you aren't the one who set up the system.
