Bluefire,

Bossie is a huge USAirways fan and here are some of the rules they have put into place that I know are true:

1) All Non-Refundalbe tickets if not used in the time-frame they are bought will no longer have any value to them after the flight dates (just like a concert ticket; if you don't use it the day of it's no longer valid).

2) If you request a paper ticket instead of an e-ticket there will be a 25.00 additional processing fee.

3) No more free alcoholic drinks available (me thinks that's for first class passengers, not sure on that one)

4) No longer allowed to go on stand-by.

Those are a few; I've been getting emails left and right from USAirways and our travel agent and from what I understand these are the first of many that will be coming down the pike.

"Customers ticketed on non-refundable fares will continue to earn full Dividend Miles credit. Effective for travel January 1, 2003 and beyond, miles and segments earned on most non-refundable fares will not count toward Dividend Miles Chairman's Preferred, Gold Preferred and Silver Preferred status."

This one came from USAirways today; now does this mean after January 03 that non-refundable tickets will no longer go towards segments or points on the Dividend Miles?  What's the purpose to flying these carriers if they aren't going to offer these perks; kinda like shootin themselves in the foot.
