Someone apparently needs more to do.  I got a letter in the mail today from one othe contractors we've worked for in the past asking us to verify if we are in the area that is now part of a new area code.  A LETTER!!!  This information is in the very front of every phone book.

It would have been cheaper and quicker for this person to just sit down with their vendor list, open the phone book and check each exchange against the phone book's list instead of taking the time to create a mail merge letter, print, sign, stuff in the envelope and mail each letter.   Not to mention the postage costs of mailing 100+ such letters.

It just goes to show that people don't sit down and take the time to THINK sometimes...

No they don't.  When I told my boss I couldn't believe this person had actually sent out such a letter his comment was that it was probably an "executive decision".

Not everyone is as intelligent as we admins.  Smiley

One time I asked a caller what their address was (so I could mail them some information) and had to hold while he walked outside and looked at the address on his mail box in front of the house he had been living in for 5 years!

Actually, I can relate to that.   I usually have to carry my home phone number around with me because I can NEVER remember it.  Work phone number is not a problem since I will call in from off-site to check voice mail.  I never call myself at home so I get REALLY funny looks when I have to pull my home number out of my wallet and read it off....
