Hi everyone. I've been away. Now I'm back. And WOW the site looks fantabulous! Many design changes since last I visited....and the addition of the VA section. Yippee!!
So, I admit...I kind of drifted away...primarily because I piled another class onto my schedule for winter quarter, bringing me to 3 total. AND my Wicked Witch of a boss put the stomp on Internet surfing at work, so I had to lay low.....HOWEVER...
As of last Thursday I am a FREE AGENT! Yep, I got sick of the soap opera that was my life at the office...it's a rather long and sordid tale, consisting of an insecure, jealous control-freak manager and several AAs who she perceived as threats - yours truly included. On Thursday morning, without warning and when all senior staff were in CA at a meeting, she swooped in on 3 of us and basically threatened that if we didn't "consider other options" life would get very difficult indeed. To this point, I'd had no performance issues, no warnings, no nothing.
I wasn't happy there either, though. So, bottom line is I'm not sorry I'm not there anymore. I have a call into HR to file a formal complaint against the manager in question, and I'm movin' on up! I hope. LOL I need to find another job, but I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Which is sort of what led me back to this wonderful site...I was searching for career resources, you know, links with job listing, resume and cover letter help, etc. So if anyone has any good "hidden" recommendations, pass 'em on! I have covered most of the "big guns" like HotJobs and Monster. Or else I'm gonna "kiss off corporate America" and go solo. This week is full of delicious possibilities!! Now, off to read the archives and see what I've missed!

Welcome Back EJChicago. It's great to have you back! With your positive attitude, you should have no problem finding a fantastic new position. Your enthusiasm SHONE through your post.
