I think the photos were probably made to show how far he has fallen, with perhaps a little of the medical care aspect thrown in for good measure. Theoretically I believe all prisoners should be treated humanely, but my concern for this particular individual is so low as not to register. Just goes to point out the difference between "them" and "us" (speaking broadly and not referring to ethnicity or religion, but rather to types of people) that "we"--the good guys--are even concerned with the condition of this fellow. I'm sure that no matter what he is experiencing, it is lightyears above the torture he inflicted on his own people. I think we should turn him over to the new governing body of Iraq, such as it is, and let them decide what to do with him. I would definitely not let the UN (for which I have absolutely no respect these days) anywhere near him.
