It was mercifully low-key this year.
A simple card was on my desk signed by the team with some truly lovely, thoughtful comments expressing their appreciation.
Years ago I posted about the debacles the organization had tried to do as "retreats" that were anything but helpful, rejuvenating, or enlightening. Out to lunch rarely works because there's always, ALWAYS some last minute fire to put out, usually as you're putting on your coat, so....really a card with some sincere appreciation expressed was just perfect as far as I'm concerned.
