I know exactly how you feel! Although we're not afraid of being yelled at. Instead we're worried about layoffs or cutback in hours. A couple of months ago, actually I guess it was in the winter, we started with a real slowdown. They implemented a hiring freeze and said there would be "other measures" taken. About 3 weeks ago, one department had their hours cut from 40 to 35. As slow as we are in my department, we are all just waiting for the ax to fall. Thankfully for me, I am the most senior member of my department. One poor girl was only hired in September after being laid off from a job that she had held with another company for over 20 years. I am sure she is quite nervous right now. By 10:00 this morning I had finished all the work I have to do. We moved to a temporary office while they are doing renovations in our building, and we are in a very small space. So there is a limited amount of cleaning I can do - we did it all before we moved in March. At this point, we've all given up even trying to pretend that we're busy. It's pointless - all the "powers that be" know exactly what the numbers are. So, we're all doing the best we can to get through these long, boring days all the while wondering, wondering, wondering...
