We have a supplier who gives quite a good discount on the catalogue price but even so, we have to have the basic items and nothing fancy.
Post it notes come in many varieties but we have to have yellow and the catalogue company's own make - not always the most sticky but they'll do.
Day to day items - pens, paper, folders and so on, are also chosen from the basic range. But, they do the job so we can't complain really.
It has become quite a competition in the office on who best re-uses items that previously may have just been thrown away when there is nothing wrong with them.Double sided copying has become the norm now whereas before, it was rare. Does save paper so helps keep costs down.
I guess we are thinking that our contribution - however small in terms of cost - hopefully adds up to bigger savings and therefore helping our company during this financial downturn.
