To be honest, Gee, I had forgotten about it! I do know it's pre-printed on many calendars around the office -- along with Bosses Day.... but there's wasn't much fuss made.
Considering my birthday comes right on its heels, and I'm not a particular fan of the spotlight, the low key approach is just fine with me. I mean, I do my job, my boss does his job, my colleagues do their jobs...we're just doing what we're supposed to do.
However, to be brutally honest, I am rather better paid at this organization than I would be paid for similar work somewhere else. (I'm not overpaid, mind you, just fairly compensated -- many in this profession are not.) I suppose if I were doing the same workload for $10K less and substandard benefits, I might feel differently about the whole thing.....
