File Management Software

Does anyone here use file management software (meaning paper documents primarily) that allows the file folders to be dividided up by category and numbered (legal style) within the categories?

Which products? What features does that software use? What do you like about it? What are the limitations of that software?

We are reviewing options and I would love to hear feedback from other admins that might be using these types of systems.
