In order for you to do a bang up job on this, you will have to have some sort of timeframe from your bosses. You may even ask your bosses to give you 5 criteria that qualified candidates must have. Then offer to prescreen the resumes using these criteria. You could put little stickies on the resumes that most stand out to you and separate the resumes with the best ones on top.
You might then want to go the next step and even offer to set up interviews. Good candidates are actively looking and it is important to move in a timely way so you don't lose them.
