Life/career coaching

I would be interested to hear from other DD posters about life/career coaching.  Have you experienced this, and if so how did you go about getting in touch with a life/career coach?  Or would you just go and buy a book?  Did this help?  Did you make changes?

I'm interested because, although my job has developed enormously over the past year or two, I feel I'm at a crossroads careerwise and am thinking of other directions.  I would be most grateful for any feedback.
