Good bye gift for the boss

Now that I am leaving, I want to get my boss a parting gift.  He has been the one supporting me throughout my career development, he signed off on all the course reimbursement requisitions, he provided moral support and he also gave me a great reference.  I want to show him that I appreciated the four years that we worked together.  It's not likely that I will ever have as good a boss as him.  Any parting gift ideas?

I thought about naming a star for him but it's pretty pricy.

How about getting him some sort of novelty / token trophy or mug saying "best boss in the world"?

Do you know if your boss has a fav charity or cause?  You might be able to make a donation in his name, presenting him with a certificate that lets him know that it's because he is the best boss.

If it's not too personal and he's pretty smart - how about a pair of nice cufflinks?

Something he'll use, suitable for the office and which will remind him of you as well.
