Now if you could only find a way to delete that Bad Boss Certificate, you'd have my eternal admiration.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out--you have a rule against political discussions. Fine. This is a website for admins and I can certainly understand wanting to stay away from controversy. But then I see all these Al Gore "jokes" and I'm wondering just what the deal is. You won't allow political discussions (which can be invigorating and healthy) yet you consider political jokes to be non-political enough to post here?! One person's humor is another person's ewwwwwww. We old political activists have learned to win and lose gracefully and to avoid ridiculing the competition.  What goes around comes around...

Whoa Nellie!!! I'm not trying to put the clamps on anybody's right to express themselves. Just wanted a little clarification on the existing rules.

Are there any radical left-wing aging hippie Democrats around here or is this a Dubya Zone?
7  General Discussion / The Humour Zone / Hell yes, I'm Offended! on: May 02, 2001, 04:47:24 pm
Humor that doesn't offend somebody is usually too darned timid to be funny. I love this. I really do.

and wonderful.

Hey RadarO, it's a deal! By the way, I used to be known here, there and everywhere as Mustang Sally (not Alec, goddamnit!) and I'm ready to defect.  (How does a person do that, anyway?)I can even speak 8 words of French, and I s'pose I could learn to love hockey. And there's nothing about Canadian weather that Minnesota didn't prepare me for. (I know, Ms. Robbie, bad, bad grammar.  Very bad.) So keep the light on for me, kiddo.
10  General Discussion / Topical Climates / Oh RadarO, I'm Defecting on: February 21, 2001, 01:08:56 am
Hey, Radar, is there room in Canada for a disenfranchised, pissed off American? I made a solemn vow that if a certain person were elected president of the U.S., I'd cash in my citizenship and leave the country. And my worst nightmare is living in the White House. Argh! Whaddya think? Can I seek sanctuary up North? And I am soooo not kidding!

Crafty/Shannon: I think (no, I KNOW) that the local media--among others--were monitoring my posts at several websites, including Oclick (especially my posts to and from Soultrain). I got suspicious a couple months ago at an eerie and unending bunch of "coincidences"--I kept hearing and reading my very own words, but they were claimed by and credited to other people. (I know, I know, Crafty. This sounds really Twilight Zoney) I am sure that my stuff (and probably other people's) was swiped. Arghhh! I know there are folks for whom this wouldn't be a big deal.  But it is to me. I've been taking a sabbatical from the 'Net. It's not a fun place to be anymore.
12  General Discussion / Topical Climates / Internet Theft on: March 20, 2001, 03:24:58 pm
Damn, I'm ticked off! I have been ripped off by scoundrels. Stuff I've written--at Officeclick and other websites--has been swiped and used by scumbags for profit. Theirs! Sometimes it's been verbatim, word-for-word theft. Sometimes it's been more subtle.   Andrea, I appreciate the care you've taken with your Terms of Service, the safeguards you have put in place to protect everybody's copyright rights. But the truth is, nobody owns nothin' on the 'Net. It's all up for grabs. Be careful, everybody.  The stuff you write here has value. Mustang "Rush me to the Burn Unit" Sally

I believe that women named Tammy are all a little freaky.  That is not necessarily a bad thing.

White Satin: I have always told my husband that I will leave him for one of two men--Sinatra or Pacino. (hubby ain't holding his breath) Since Sinatra has gone to that Big Mafia Meeting in the Sky, I have no other choice but to zero in on Al. Even though Al is gettin kinda weathered-looking (ala Clint), I gotta stand by my man (ala Tammy Wynette).

Football fever/I Got It Bad--When I see a fleet-footed wide receiver in a purple uniform streaking down the field and making a spectacular catch, I don't begrudge that guy or any of his teammates the millions that they make--even though many are convicted felons. If a guy has committed multiple homicides but can make a great football play, heck, I'm willing to let bygones be...

Where IS Mae STrunk, anyway?  Maybe Jesse's got her in a hammerlock.
15  General Discussion / Topical Climates / Pacino and Punting on: May 26, 2001, 12:13:51 am
Ge, are you making light of Mission:Pacino?!! I won't have it! I tell you, this is serious business!!! My life's work.

Radar: Impending doom. Vikings owner, a Texan, keeps making loud (and suddenly louder), serious threats to move the team unless they get a new stadium. this would be devastating. Almost as bad as seeing Al Pacino hand-in=hand (or cheek-to-cheek) with a tall blonde.
