Okay folks, the jokes on political candidates are gone.  slaps on the wrists all around.  This forum IS for humor, however, we have a standing rule against politics and religion as discussion topics, even joke ones.  There are plenty of other forums for you to share your political humor in and feel free to use those specific venues. Including the newly created Election Expression forum here at The Admin Authority.

People are easily offended over our election debacle, and this just isnt the place...

Are there any radical left-wing aging hippie Democrats around here or is this a Dubya Zone?

I dunno SinatraFan................I'm a Libertarian myself, but that's all I'm gonna say about it cuz of the no politics thing.

Even though Dubya's not my man, I thought the poem was cute.

We do have that no politics/no religion rule - I mean why stir up trouble?  People have different views and feel VERY strongly about these two issues - but you know, I haven't even seen ONE Dubya joke - only things I've seen circulating are the Gore ones.

Good points from both of you, NC and SinatraFan.  I don't have answers, but they are good questions.  Wonder if we're going to run up against the "where do you draw the line" question pretty soon?

Just a thought.

Good question re: political humor - but, as I mentioned earlier, we haven't seen a Dubya joke - it's not that we, as a web site, support one candidate or another.  If a Dubya jokes were to be submitted to the Humor Zone it would receive the same space as the Gore jokes.  But, I will raise the issue with the Editorial Board and see what they think.

So far, what has been not allowed is political discussions and religious discussions.  Obviously, as we go forward we will need to re-visit some issues.

Whoa Nellie!!! I'm not trying to put the clamps on anybody's right to express themselves. Just wanted a little clarification on the existing rules.

Oops - sorry Sinatra.  I thought you were offended by the humor (just goes to show we ARE paying attention! )

As I stated earlier, the only real "rule" (other than what's in the TOS) is no discussions on politics and religion - it could get too volatile.

And, if there ARE any Dubya jokes out there - please by all means post 'em and any other funnies you want to share.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out--you have a rule against political discussions. Fine. This is a website for admins and I can certainly understand wanting to stay away from controversy. But then I see all these Al Gore "jokes" and I'm wondering just what the deal is. You won't allow political discussions (which can be invigorating and healthy) yet you consider political jokes to be non-political enough to post here?! One person's humor is another person's ewwwwwww. We old political activists have learned to win and lose gracefully and to avoid ridiculing the competition.  What goes around comes around...

Now if you could only find a way to delete that Bad Boss Certificate, you'd have my eternal admiration.
