For me, it's good value and reliability.  If it's green and the cost is good too, then all well and good.  But I don't buy eco-friendly just for the sake of it.  At least the cost of some of these items has come down a lot.  I have to say though that recycled paper notebooks are ugh ugh ugh, or were last time I looked at them.  Somebody else prove me wrong!
