Hmm - two weeks' money ain't much, is it? I've never wanted to work contracts for just such a reason ... temping's fine (though payrates haven't gone up in about four years) because one is used to "hand to mouth" existence and a job can end at a moment's notice but contract ... nah!
I hear what you say - "what's a permanent job these days?". Civil service is about as permanent as it gets 'though academia is the next best thing (where I've just fetched up!).
All good wishes for your interview at the end of the month - I know you'll wow them and, as you say, things can only get better. Fingers are crossed.
