I'm ready to scream!  I finally had a few minutes today to work on some questions I have to respond to in order to apply for another position in our company, so I went to the website, went to the form that they want me to fill out, saved it to my computer and started filling it out.  Then I had to let IT onto my PC, so I saved again and closed out of it.  I just went back to that file, and guess what?? It didn't save anything but the form itself.  None of what I had typed, at all.  And do I have a printed version of it??? Noooooo....  So now the time I spent on this was wasted effort, I have to re-create those responses, and get it all done before 4:30pm tomorrow.  Why oh why didn't it save when I asked???  And why did IT have to pick today of all days to work on my pc??  This is going to be a 'great' week if it continues like this.

Thanks for listening... I just had to vent to someone so I could refocus my energies on once again answering these questions.

I'm so sorry, Countrygal.  It's awful when that happens.  Anyway, I wish you success in your application.

Been there and done that I don't know how many times.   Just is really bad with timing.  I hope you had another chance to get back into it again and finished on time. Good luck!  Keep us posted on how things  turn out.

I did lose everything I had worked on, so I spent a couple of hours at home that night working on replacing the lost data and finishing it all up.  Came in yesterday morning to discover that pretty much all that I had done was garbage.  (guess that's what happens when you try to be productive with a fussy infant in the room and on your mind.)  Anyway, I worked on it yesterday morning (slow day at work thankfully) and had a couple of folks "in the know" proof it, and we ended up with a great finished product.  Then I had to work on the resume, which I had not had to do since a class in college some 11 years ago.  With some help from Chris68 and from others at work, I was able to produce a resume that seemed very strong and should put me in the running.  After a few more tears and heart attacks, I was able to get the application package in to HR just under the wire.  Now comes the waiting to find out if they qualify me for the position, and then waiting for an interview.

The good news?  The boss for the position I'm applying for stopped by my office yesterday and found out I was applying.  She made some suggestions on content for the resume and KSAO's and all in all gave me a very positive feeling for my chances.  I just wish this process wouldn't take as long as it will.  2-3 weeks for them to qualify folks, then another 1-2 weeks for the packages to be looked over by the hiring team and possibly to schedule interviews.  But I want to go now.
