Well, I had the talk with my supervisor yesterday. She informed me that they're not going to hire me; they somehow don't think I will be able to handle the stress of the upcoming "crazy" season, and they think I'm "not a good fit" (am I the only one getting tired of that cliche?)
However, I am not too upset. They are going to let me stay on until they or I find something new. And I called the place I just interviewed that to inform them that I am able and interested in taking their position, if offered, and the lady there told me they were impressed with me, so that's a good sign! She said they have a couple more interviews to go, and should let me know by the middle of next week!
So who knows? In a couple of weeks, I may have a new job! I have a feeling this is the right thing happening at the right time..

Hi Oz Glad you grabbed the bull by the horns and now you know where you stand. It's good too that they're letting you stay on till you find something, and good vibes from somewhere new. Stay positive, the right job for you is out there. There's a phrase they use here in Edinburgh - what's for you won't go by you. Oz, what news. Glad to know that you were able to sit with them and be told what's up, so that you could make a decision on other positions. Very helpful of them. And I agree with Jackie... what's meant for you won't miss you as long as you're open and willing for it. Since you are, and you got good feedback from this other position, looks like this cloud may have a bright silver lining for you.

As folks are probably tired of hearing me say by now: All things happen for a reason, and there is a perfect fit with your name on it somewhere! I am glad that this employer was upfront with you... eventually. Will they be flexible in allowing hassle-free time off for interviews? DonnaP99 |

Yes, they are actually being quite cooperative in letting me schedule interviews, etc. I will also be talking with the temp agency some time this week.
