Good morning from sunny Northern Illinois!
(It's a good day when the sun shines here.  It's usually pretty gloomy this time of year.)

Anyway - - - is there a forum for Admins who work in healthcare or hospital environments?
I'm a relatively new Admin Asst to the 'main' nurse at my hospital.
He's a terrific boss, so I don't really have any complaints.
I was just looking for others who can share success stores, etc.

Thanks,
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

In addition to IAAP (the International Association of Administrative Professionals), you might want to check out Illinois Hospital Association - Health Care Office Professionals (IHA HCOP). That organization could be reallyuseful for you.

I don't work in a hospital setting, but my IAAP Chapter has a number of members from our local hospital.

Lynn,
There are a few of us out here that are members of this website and are, or have been, admins in the healthcare field.  I was in that position until the first part of March, and still have 10 years of experience in that area to draw from.  Feel free to PM me or post here on DD, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of support and ideas.

Also, one of the things that we've learned on this website over the years is that admin jobs have a lot of similarity in the types of issues we deal with, the people we deal with, etc, and so even if someone isn't in your field, they will still be able to understand your situation and offer insights.  And a lot of times, the best response may come from someone who is not in the same field as yours but had similar experiences.  We discovered this while also discovering that it really doesn't matter, at the heart of things, where you are located either.  US admins and UK admins and everyone can all assist one another equally.

So feel free to post away, and see what help, advice, understanding, etc that you can get from the great group of Admins that comprise our DD "family".
