The Weekend

It’s Friday at last
The end of the week
Time for fun and games
And to catch up on sleep

No more work
For at least 3 days
No early mornings
Or traffic delays

Shopping on Saturday
Meet up with some friends
A long leisurely stroll
The day never ends

On Sundays we rest
And watch tv
Have breakfast in bed
The papers we read

Take the dog for a walk
Do some DIY
Then have a snooze
Ah this is the life

Then all too soon
The weekend concludes
As Monday approaches
I’m now in a mood

As I set my alarm
And get in to bed
I think to myself
Is it Friday yet?
