Best Holiday Gifts You Ever Received?

What is the best gift you ever received from someone at work?   Who gave it to you?  What occasion was it for?   Maybe seeing the best give YOU received will spark some ideas for your peers.

I don't exchange gifts with people in work, but in a previous job one year I do remember we all got vouchers.

It's nice when you get something you don't expect.

I know many who poo poo the gift cards, but I try to make them personal not a generic card, but to a specific store or place where I know they like to shop or movie theater.  For me Starbucks gift cards or chocolate!  Good chocolate which does not include Godiva, one small bar of Scharfenberger will make my day.

I had a boss give me a $5,000 bonus. THAT was a Christmas to remember.

I've gotten various gift cards and whatnot over the years, but for a truly personal gift, I had a boss who brought me back a beautiful scarf set from India and another boss who brought me a lovely necklace and earrings. (Their wives helped pick them out - no hanky panky going on LOL).

My current boss and I don't exchange gifts, though I might bring in a jar of homemade jam for each of the people I support this year - customized to what they have liked or sugar free if they are diabetic.

Once my bossie gave me a lovely bracelet - quite an expensive one - but it was made up of my favourite colours so I know some thought had gone into it. 

Another boss wanted me one year to order 20 Bodyshop gift baskets for various staff whom he came into contact with on a daily basis - his parting sentence was to me "oh, by the way, order an extra one for yourself while you are at it" - I did but made sure it contained all the bits I liked !!

Austrian crystal snowflake ornaments.  They adorn my tree every year and bring back great memories of working with a great boss and team.
