Clarinet has chosen her course of action and we should respect that and wish her well in her new role.

Don't you encourage people to stand up to bullies? Bizarre. How on earth can we learn if we don't make things right?

Gee, we hear you. Clarinet is perfectly entitled to choose her own way and deal with her own situation in the way that works best for her.
If you can't respect that, then please don't post. The world works very differently in different places. DD is a worldwide community and we need to stop and think a little before posting our own strongly held opinions if we can't see another side, or understand why someone has taken a route that another person may not personally agree with.
That's what makes the world different and interesting. It'd be a dull place if we all did exactly the same.
By choosing to remove herself from a bullying situation, Clarinet is standing up in her own way. It may well be that her company will choose to act on her file once she has moved away. Or they may not. But we cannot dictate that.

My two pennies worth is that not everybody delas with things in the same way. Sometimes, it is just better to move on. beating the bullies could be seen as lowering yourself to thier level. Why some people feel that work is a suitable place to carry on bulling people like they did at school is beyond me. I hope that evryone who finds themselves in this siutation is able to reslove with dignity.
Just my thoughts and it's been a long time since i posted here!
it's good to be back!

As someone who was badly bullied in the workplace for almost four years, my thoughts are, your health and sanity come first. I did stand my ground because I liked my work and other colleagues - but my health suffered. I couldn't report it (although everyone knew it was going on and witnessed it) because, you guessed it, we were part of HR and the person doing the bullying was my boss. When I look back now I wish I had been stronger to walk away.
People deal with things in different ways, and you have to do what is right for you.
I wish you all the luck in the world Clarinet.
