Two years ago, I was given a set of all the study guides and text to prepare for the CPS exam. I am beginning to study now, and I plan on taking it in November 2001.
Are there any new study guides and text out there to prepare for the new section of the CAP called "Organizational Planning?"

I'm taking (I hope) the CAP exam in May. There is a Part IV book - Organizational Planning - for the CAP exam by Robert A. Metcalf CPS, copyright 2001. You can all 435-574-3101 or email support@cpsreview.com and I think you can get it there. They also have tapes and CDs to purchase. If you need more information, email me at knislek@nationwide.com and I'll try to help.

Ninja -
There is no study guide for the new certification CAP. It is based more on reasoning ability. The questions are multiple choice, typically A - D. IAAP provides a list of reference material to read and review (7 Habits, at the like).
I have seen sample questions -- seem relatively easy. There are two possible right answers to each question. One answer you get full credit for and the other you get partial credit. The last two are incorrect...no credit.
I think you'll find that Part IV is not as difficult as the CPS (Part I - III).

Sorry, Sungoddess, but there IS a Part IV - Organizational Planning - study guide for the CAP exam. I've got a copy of it. It was ordered from the same place the other CPS study books are ordered from. Our CPS study leader (and president of the local CPS Society) ordered several copies for us to use to prepare for the exam.
There are CDs and cassette tapes as well.

Well, then, I stand corrected. We were told that there wasn't any study material. Is this something that Rob Metcalf put together? Or did you get it from headquarters?
Curious....

Rob Metcalf did put it together. I'll find out from our CPS guru at work where she ordered the material from. It's pretty good! It's copyrighted 2001, address is CPS Review, P.O. Box 1655, St. George, UT 84771-1655, Phone number is 435-574-3101, email is support@cpsreview.com. Covers Team Skills, Strategic Planning and Advanced Administration.

Well, then, ol Rob is on the ball. Like I said, last we heard (thru IAAP), there wasn't any available. Perhaps they weren't comfortable is advertising for Rob...although he's done plenty for IAAP. Great guy. Good friend.
I'll pass the info along to the chapter members.
Learn something new every day! ! Thanks.

I just found out that right now the material is only available on CD and you have to have Acrobat Reader 4.0 in order to access it. One of the ladies in our Chapter got the CD and then made a study copy for us to use (no, we didn't violate any copyright laws).
You have to order it by calling the phone number listed above. It's around $80.
