Ok, now I know that it's not just me being b*tchy!  I was out 2 days last week - TWO! and I come back today to an office that is turned slightly upside down and news that she has requested new office furniture for "us", new pc's, etc.  Don't get me wrong, I don't mind getting new stuff, but I know that here that does not mean new, nor does it mean better.  Plus, my office stuff works great for me and I really don't want a new PC just yet (too much to do, and not enough time to transfer all the docs I'd need to go with the switch!).  It's not like ours are old, but there again, that's a nurse for ya.  (Again, qualify that by saying that I mean the nurses I've been in contact with here at this facility!)  For someone who is only to be on this campus 1 day a week (max), she sure is trying to re-do enough.  Wonder what else I have in store for me over the week.  AND.... she's on this campus this morning instead of where she "should" be.  I asked her what she thought of her office on the other campus and she was thrilled and loved it, so why, oh why, is she trying to muck with mine without even talking to me about it?Huh  I'm too sick to deal with this this morning!

Sorry y'all, but this gets to me.  We're supposed to work together, not one of us make decisions for the both of us.  Wonder how much luck I'd have if I put in for another position... there's one in the IT field that seems to be calling me.

Hi CG

Sorry to hear about this.  Why do people feel that they have to do this?  You'd think she would let the dust settle a bit before making changes - which of course should be discussed fully with you first.

Take a deep breath and keep calm - you've got someone very important travelling around with you now so don't let this person get to you (easier said than done I know!).

All the best,
Nicola.

Oh, and it gets better.  I've discovered that she has requested to change her primary duty station to this campus, this office.  Kind of defeats the purpose of having 2 of us in such related positions if we're both in one location.  Not to mention the lack of storage and space available for another body in my office.  And of course, I'm sure my supervisor will approve it, without talking to me about any of it, simply for the fact that she likes this new person and we all know her attitude towards me.  So no matter what the reasons we have for having 2 of us on separate locations, she won't pay attention to that (all discussed and agreed upon prior to her becoming manager) and simply do what she wants to and keep this person happy.  So I'll probably be booted out of half of my storage and be required to go up 3 floors to do basic filing and retrieval for my daily job.  Sheesh!

Luckily, that IT position has opened and my hubby has agreed it would be a good move for me, so now I'm applying for that (position closes by Feb 10) so may soon be relocating to a new job anyway.  Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

Absolutley!  Fingers toes, oops not fingers while trying to type.  That's been hard enough today, .

Sounds like they are trying to squeeze you out into the other building, or just out.

Not good.  Hang in there kiddo and you know where I am if you need a shoulder or a vent!

She comes into YOUR office, turns it upside down and starts ordering stuff without event talking to you?  That's disrespectful with a capital D!  (I'm not talking about pecking orders or anything like that -- just basic human decency!)

Oooh, I hope you get that IT job.  They can be a neat crew to work with.  I'm praying for you!
