If you're (editoruk) taking ideas on what to put on the website. How about a resume area?

tips and samples.
sample objective statements.
websites to check out.

where we can bounce our resumes off others (minus any personal info if you want to)
input from everyone on what has worked for them.
what employers are really looking for? what will catch their eye?

yeah, this could be addressed in the forums.... but it would be nice to have a specific area to go to.

(I'm updating my resume.... again.... so this is what I'm thinking about these days)

That's an interesting idea Korg. I wonder if we could include it in the new advice section. If we're going to organise the advice by topic, we could have a resume section. What does everyone think? If you've got any hot resume tips, send them in to me!

I agree as I have helped several friends and DD'ers over the past months with advice on updating and preparing a CV.

Great idea Kjorg!  We know that we share resumes often between posters in here to get feedback on resumes, but a single place to go to see tips, what worked, what flopped (and include the arena for these, as what works for hiring onto a construction firm might not be what will work when looking to hire on to a law firm), samples, etc.  And then if there are some of us who are willing to review resumes, perhaps including our contact or a link to an e-mail page to send it to us would be useful.  Folks could volunteer to be on that 'committee' and get the opportunity to review resumes and provide feedback to the requestor, above and beyond the forums, though I still feel that the forums are some of the best areas for honest responses.

Look forward to seeing what and how it develops!
